Obituary

Tymel Matthew Harris, Sr. Son of Tira Harris-Curtis and the late Omar Farouq
was born on May 23, 1993 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was dedicated to the Lord on
April 8, 2001at the Evangel Cathedral in Largo, Maryland. He tragically departed this life
on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Tymel, known as "Melly", "Top"or "EI Toppo", grew up in West
Baltimore and was well known for his incredibly beautiful grey, blue, green or hazel eyes
that changed colors, sometimes accordingto which season it was. At the age of three,
Tymel tragically lost his father, Omar and his uncle Donnell, on the same day, to gun
violence. A few years later, he lost a second uncle, Michael, to gun violence
as well. He then lost his grandfather Michael to cancer. These tragic losses, all so close
together, scarred and traumatized Tymel throughout his life. Tymel received his education
through the Baltimore City School system. Although he faced several tragic losses and went
through several trials and tribulations during his school years, Tymel still persevered and
received his high school diploma on time! As a kid, Tymel played little league football for
the Overlea Orangemen, became a great swimmer through swimming lessons that his
"MaMa", Patricia, took him to at Chick-Webb and he completed his boxing training at Umar
Boxing. After his high school graduation, Tymel attended The Fortis Institute, where he studied
to be a medical assistant. He wore those scrubs with pride!! Tymel briefly worked for BGE as
a door-to-door sales representative and he also worked at Checkers for a short time. Tymel
absolutely loved spending time with his family, especially his fiancee, Keysha and his sisters
Dayon, TaBria and favorite cousin/Sister Tamira. Tymel's bonds with his "Na-Na", Valerie and
his "Pop-Pop", Matthew (who recently preceded him in death) were absolutely beautiful,
incredible and extra special. He was the apple of their eyes. Tymel had a fun childhood playing
sports, goingto amusement parks and going to Disney every year with his "Na-Na", Valerie.
He also enjoyed writing songs, rapping, recording songsin the studio and doing videos on
YouTube and socialmedia. At the age of eighteen, Tymel became a dad for the first time.
He had a beautiful daughternamed Melonny Milan Karter Harris, with Kiyetta Pack. In 2014,
Tymel and his fiancee, RaKeysha Mackall, had a handsome son named Tymel Matthew
Harris, Jr. Unfortunately, Tymel had to spend some time away from his children and family,
but when he did come home, he came home with the determination to be a great dad and
family man, which is exactly what he was doing until his untimely death. He was making
everyone proud with the maturity and responsibility he was displaying. He was becoming
the man he always said he would be. Tymel was a fearless young man and had such an
infectious spirit that just made you lovehim so much, even when he plucked your last nerve.
All his life, Tymel just wanted to love and be loved and he was SO LOVED by his family.
He was absolutely adored by his family. Tymelleaves, to cherish his memory: his loving
mother and number one fan, Tira and stepfather, Donta; two children: Melonny and Tymel, Jr.;
his fiancee, RaKeysha Mackall; five grandparents: Valerie and Milton Smith, Patricia and
Clayton Collier and Omar AI-Farouq; four sisters: Dayon, TaBria, Joy andDasia; two
cousins/siblings: Tamira and Tramaine; one nephew: Ashton; three aunts: Tracy, Tiffany
and Mariah; three uncles: Anthony, Darren andAndre; godfather:Leroy Savage; five
great-aunts: Rosalind, Patsy, Vanessa, Paulette and Lillian; six great- uncles:Stanley,
Claude, Levon, Michael, Larry and Mark and a host of loving cousins and friends.
Tymel will be sorely and tremendously missedby all who knew and loved him.
