Tyree Higgins Jr. son of Etta L. Byrd and Tyree Higgins Sr., was born on November 10, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on October 18, 2017 after a short battle with liver cancer.

He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He also attended auto mechanic school where he specialized in brakes and rotors.

Shortly after mechanic school he was employed at numerous auto shops, Mash's Ham, D& W Rebuilders. Working at Mash's Ham in DC is where he developed a love for go-go music.

Tyree or "Butch" as he was called by family and friends was a caring person and would give you his last ifhe had it.

He made many friends but no friends compared to the "fellas" as they called each other.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his loving parents, Etta L. Byrd and Tyree Higgins Sr.; brothers, Myers Johnson, Terrance, Tyrone, Pete and Tommy Higgins preceded him in death; daughter, Tyra Hughes; son-in-law, Anthony Hughes; granddaughter, Tykia Higgins; four grandsons, Ty'Quan, Ty'Shawn, Ty'Juan and Tyion Hughes and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
