Valerie M. Hawkins entered this world from heaven on
March 1, 1961 as a gift from God. Valerie departed this life to
return back to heaven on December 25, 2016 at 9:00p.m.
Valerie was born to Roberta Stanley and the late Jerome
Edwards.

Valerie enjoyed working all three of her jobs from the time
she received her very first one 33 years ago becoming a mom.
Second, becoming a wife of 19 years, and third a
grandmother to Blake and Bailey Puckett whom she truly
adored. She took pride in being all three of those things.

Valerie was very loving, caring and outspoken, one of a kind
all around wonderful person. She will be missed dearly.

Valerie received her education within the Baltimore City
Public School System. Val took an interest in the retail and
medical field. She also had a love for reading books and
magazines. This was her way of keeping up with the latest
entertainment gossip which she loved sharing with her
wonderful daughter, Bolondalay and husband Tony.

She really enjoyed having long and intimate, sometimes
funny conversations with us as well.

Val, and Tony were the true definition of what love is all
about, their love was really for better or worse, till death did
them part !!

I Know what will be missed most from the both of them and
that's hearing each other call one another's name.

Val, she loved watching her grandkids and fussing her
daughter out when they were there one day to long, which in
reality was her way of letting Bolonda know it's been too long
since she's seen her.

Val, was a care taker if ever you needed. Somehow she
always found a way to help you get it done. She had a special
relationship with her niece Latisha Faulks who she always
protected and looked out for.

Val, had a thing for family that loved and had a sense of
understanding about who she was, that's why it was so easy
for her to express her love thru being there for her favourite
Aunts when she could.

She loved having long conversations about her aunt Dorothy
and her New York family. Just to name a few, Baby Dot,
Brenda, Malika and Rosie. She adored her aunt Magarie and
loved to spend time with her. She loved telling her aunt Helen
jokes and putting a smile on her face.

Val, loved the youth, all Bolonda's friends became Val's
friends. It was never a secret or dull moment around Val, she
gave you comfort to be who you were around her. She had a
thing with wanting to know it all, Raw no cut cards, and Eric
and Lacey who she truly loved and talked about often, didn't
mind giving it to her.

Val, was so full of life and she made it known. Val also
enjoyed attending church with her family. She loved quoting
her favorite scripture, (Thess. 4: 11), she would yell it out
every time she felt it was needed.

Val and her brother Craig had a way of understanding each
other's lingo. They enjoyed talking about their Gorman and
Fayette street memories, which happens to be the funniest.
Their relationship was like her life, full of fun and laughter.

Valerie leaves to mourning: Her husband Anthony Thomas,
her best friend and daughter Bolondalay Banks, two
Grandkids Blake and Bailey Puckett, her mom Roberta
Stanley, her step father Sherman Stanley, her brother Craig
Hawkins, Sister Lytice Alderman, niece and nephew Eric and
Lacey Hawkins, Amari Blu, Amillio Alderman, Aron
Alderman, one brother in-law Timothy Thomas, special
friends Alan Puckett 3rd, Duronta Brown Jr. and a host of
other friends and family ....
