Obituary

Vashti enjoyed traveling to various places in the United States and Canada with
relatives and friends. She also enjoyed attending plays locally, in addition to the
Lyric Opera House, Morris Mechanics Playhouse, Sight and Sound in Pennsylvania,
and on Broadway in New York City. She also enjoyed socializing and dancing,
especially at St. Katherine Episcopal Church Dinner Dances.

She was vibrant, caring, confidant, strong-willed, very independent and loved by
many. Creatively talented in making crafts, her last projects were crocheted care
bears, baby blankets, angel and cross bookmarks. She frequently talked about her
daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her
Mother, which she considered all as her children. As the matriarch, she diligently
strived for family unity, which was a large part of her life.

She was a devout Christian and long-time member of St. Katherine Episcopal
Church for over 30 years. She diligently served as a Sunday school teacher, recording
secretary for the Women's ministry, vestry member, and coordinated trips,
mostly to Sight and Sound. She was a member at St. Timothy'S Episcopal Church
for a short-time. She initiated the Prayer Shawl ministries, which she and another
church member made prayer shawls to give to others, once it was blessed.

Vashti lovingly leaves behind to cherish her memory: daughters Wanda Thomas,
Denise Thomas, sister Eunice Lokeman, grandchildren Donnell Jackson, Tyra
Jackson Littleton (Robert), Sean Thomas (Andrea), Duane Rawlings II, Andrea
Jackson, Andrew Jackson (Jasmin), Marcella Jackson Santamaria (Scott), and Tonia
Langley, great-grandchildren Aaron Jackson, Parris Thomas, Pilar Thomas, Peyton
Thomas, Solomon Littleton, Alexander Jackson, Sophia Littleton, great niece Makia
Queen, great nephew Marcus Queen, preceded in death nephew Thomas Queen. She
is also survived by aunts, cousins, host of friends, and church families.
