Venerable Judge Owens was born on January 7, 1972 to
Willie James Owens and Helen Maxine Owens. He was
affectionately known as "VJ" and "Uncle Baldy".

VJ received his education at the National Children's Center
in Washington, DC. He participated in several career and
job assistance programs such as Alliance, where he
obtained his certification in maintenance and flooring He
used those skills in several jobs including employment at
the Maryland Port Authority and the State Highway
Administration.

VJ loved sports and was rewarded with several medals for
ice hockey, basketball and baseball as a Special Olympics
athlete.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willie James
Owens, Sr., and Helen Maxine Owens, sister Cassie Mae
Owens and brother, Willie James Owens, Jr.

He leaves to mourn and miss his love, older brother; Quintin
Donnell Owens, big sisters; Helena Napper and Yvonne
Dorsey, baby brother; Lateef D'oro Quindell Owens,
slster.in.laws: Margo Owens and Erica Owens, uncles;
Harry Epps and James Epps, aunts; Shirley Branch, Linda
Sunkin and Elizabeth Epps, nieces; Shavonne Owens,
Monyai Stukes, Talees Owens, Laniyha Owens, Wanda
Owens, and Crystal Owens nephews; Shawn Owens, David
Gilliam, Donnell Gilliam, Mitchell Napper, Latest Owens, Jr.
and Russell Owens and a host of cousins, other family
