Vernon Dixon, born on April 7, 1958, departed this journey of life on August 2, 2012. He was known by everyone in South Baltimore and loved by all that knew him. The boss of South Baltimore, as called by some, was always ready to help anyone who needed a helping hand. Vernon loved God and his fellow man. Preceding in death was his father, Vernon Dixon, Sr.; his mother, May Ruth Thompson, also his sister, Ruth Elliott. He leaves to mourn; his son, Joseph Thompson; his sister Elizabeth Chase John, Florine Thompson, Patricia Clifton Joseph and Cecila; brother, Elder Joe Louis; favorite nieces, Tammy, Erica and Chiquita; a host of other family and friends, including a mother figure to Vernon, Mrs. Janice White.
