Vernon Fields (AKA Mickey), the son of Cleo Fields and the late Charles

Henry Fields. Vernon was born on March 27, 1961 in Baltimore, Mary-

land.

He received his education in the Baltimore City School System, he also

attended Job Corps at Woodstock while there he majored in Plastering.

After graduating he landed a job doing security for Abacus. Throughout

life he also worked various jobs in the construction field.

Mickey was a man who loved to cook and clean. If you look for him at a

family gathering you will find him at the grill, in the kitchen at the stove

or washing dishes. Fish was one of his favorites and his specialty. Mickey

would have that kitchen sounding like a jazz session in the making. Jazz

music was his heart. He was well-rounded with his big appetite of different

styles of music. If you saw Mickey walking down the street walking with

his earphones on, you knew what he was listening to. He was an easygoing

guy, he loved to get around the city even down to the days he really had to

push himself. A few years ago he was diagnosed with sarcoidoses, a lung

disease that ultimately forced him to carry around oxygen tanks 2417 but

that didn't stop him not one bit. Mickey will be missed dearly.

Mickey was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Fields; his

daughter, Tyana and his brother Aaron (Man).

He leaves to mourn: his mother Cleo Samuel; his children, Patrice, Lucre-

atia, Jasmin; sons, Jamal and Paul; son-in-law, Derek; his sisters, Wanda,

Lisa and Cheryl; his brothers-in-law, Walter and Lance; his grandchildren,

Juantrice, King and Caiyon and a host of grandkids, nieces, nephews,

cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
