VERNON HARRIS, son of the late Mabel and John Harris was born on December 20,1944. He departed this life on February 2,2014. HE graduated from Southern High School in Baltimore, Maryland and received an honorable discharge from the United States Army Reserve. VERNON was a long time employee and retired from the Baltimore City, Department of Public Works. VERNON was an adamant sport enthusiast. He loved and enjoyed playing basketball, watching football and was an avid fan of the Orioles and Ravens. HE married the former Janice Johnson, and out of this union one child was born, Vernon Keith Harris. The union ended in divorce; however they remain mutual friends. VERNON was baptized in 2009 and was a faithful member of the First Apostolic Faith Church, under the auspices of Apostle Cornelius Showell Senior Pastor. VERNON made numerous friends, wherever he went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him He was well known to the neighbors and well respected. VERNON was dedicated, faithful, loving, kind, affectionate and loyal to his life-long companion, Inez C. Reese (who preceded him in death. Most importantly, Vernon and Inez build their relationship on true love. God speaks of this type of love, as scripture reveals .. true lord is found between a man and a woman when there is a confirmation from God in the hearts of each of them that God has led them to walk together and to serve HIM. Vernon and Inez experienced that affirmation. HE was devoted to his family and cherished his extended family, James, Tony, John, Sheila, Lenny and Eugene Russell. HE leaves to mourn; two sons, Anthony, and VernonHarris; one daughter Tiffany Harrh and four grand-children, Tenika, Brandon, Milan and Deonte. Funeral Service Joseph H.
