Vernon B. White, Jr., affectionately known as "Reds", was the son of the late Cleopatra Crump and Vernon Buster White, Sr., departed this from this life after a short illness on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Gilchrist Hospice in Baltimore, Maryland and went home to be with the Lord. As a young man, Vernon attended Lake Clifton Junior and Senior High Schools. After school, Vernon worked in the landscaping and construction fields working for Suburban Club of Baltimore, Woodholme Country Club and most recently he held employment at Clifton Park Golf Course - ajob which he held over the last two years before his health began to fail. Vernon also worker in construction with his brother, Gregory West. Vernon had a strong passion for landscaping and outdoor work. Vernon was a very positive, independent and hard working person. He loved sports especially football (his team was the Dallas Cowboys -"America's Team". Clearly, Vernon had a green thumb because of his love for landscaping. Vernon was a cool, laid back type of person who never seemed rattled by anything, but he had a great sense of humor. He was a person who tried to find the positive in every situation. Vernon and his sister, Harriet, enjoyed long walks, talking and laughing together. He was a member and usher of New Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a happy servant of the Lord until his health failed. He never complained about his pain. He was a strong believer in God and placed all of his trust in the Lord. His favorite hymn is "I Won't Complain." He leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Shanika (daughter) and Vernon B. White III (son); four brothers and sisters, Harriet, Gregory, Herbert, and Paulette; five nephews and nieces, Stephen Crump, Cleopatra Boone (Peanut), Kenneth House; Patricia West and Shawn West; three sister-in-laws, Henrietta West, Yvonne West and Carolyn West; and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
