Veronica Roberta Johnson, daughter of the late Preston and Elizabeth Johnson, was born on June 27, 1939 in Baltimore, Mdaryland. She departed this life on Sunday, December 20, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Veronica received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools and Sojourner-Dougass College. She was employed as a social worker at Urban Services. She did private care assistance until she retired. She married the late Willard Murel, Sr. and from that union eight children were born. She was known as "Ronnie" by her family and friends, Veronica gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of the Pentecostal Outreach Community Church. She served on the Trustee Board, sang with the Senior Chior and many other church activites until her health started failing. Veronica was very involved in family reunion planning and many other events. She always said it was important to keep the family togather. She loved to make people laugh and would definitely tell you the truth and did not hold back anything. She was very generous and supportive of family and friends in snyway that she could be of help. She loved to talk and have a good conversation. Her children Denise, Wendell, Barry and Ronald; daughter-in-law Linda and grandson Percell whom she was very close to, Kennita and other grandchildren were faithful to the end. Special thanks to Aunt Dorothy, Vernetta, Angela, Nita, Ursula, Regina, Lonnie, Nora, Charles, Eric, Gloria and Patrica for their dedication during her last days with us. Veronica leaves to mourn; four children, Denise, Wendell, Barry and Ronal; daughter-in-law, Linda; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; two sisters, Daisy Allen and Gloria Toogood; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dailey and Louise Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Four sons preceded her in death; Tyrone, Nathaniel, Willard Jr., and Richard Murel whom she loved dearly.
