Victoria A. Hooker-Payne, daughter of the late Wallace Hooker and
Doris Washington was born in Baltimore City on May 8, 1950. She
departed this life on January 1, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
Vicky received her education in the Baltimore City Public School
System graduating from Eastern High School in 1970. Concluding high
school she then married Edward Payne in 1975.
Vicky started a career in the same Baltimore City Public School System
she attended as a student to becoming a dynamic teacher. Later on she
obtained a license to practice nursing to become a private duty nurse until
she retired.
Vicky had two daughters but was a mother to many of their friends and
others who she consider her children. Her fun spirit and people person
personality will be missed by all, especially the many friends she's made
along life's journey. She was a best friend to many, a awesome friend to
most whether times where good or bad she'd make you smile with a joke.
She leaves to mourn: her youngest brother, Allen Hooker; youngest
daughter, Venita Hooker and two granddaughters, Sha-Mya and Neeshay,
one great granddaughter, Lyric Nicole; two nephews, Allen 2nd and
Roland; two godsons, Shelton and Brian and a host of uncles, aunts, and
cousins from Florida, North & South Carolina. Viewing Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home
