~~~~~~~~~~~
At the time of his birth, Victorious was meant to bring joy to absolutely everyone he encountered. The youngest of seven children; like a sponge, he absorbed all of his older sibling's phenomenal attributes. His immense love for his family, friends, mixed martial arts, and music was surpassed only by his love for his community.
In 2002, at the age of four Victorious became the youngest co-founding and organizing member of The Afri- kan Heritage Walkathon Inc. (AHWI) under the guidance of founder Dr. Olu Ekundayo .Ade Oba Tokunbo and other members. During a meeting after the first annual walkathon ,Victorious stated that the young adult walkers walked too far ahead of the children, the elders, and the drummers. The formation of the drummers, followed by the elders, then everyone else remained as such for the next 14 years of the annual walkathons via Victorious' suggestion. While in elementary school; he was also a member of the world re- nowned Handel Children's Choir.
In 2007, at the age of nine Victorious became intern to the President of the AHWI under the guidance of his mother Victory Swift. Learning community outreach, public relations, and fundraising skills. At the age of fourteen he became a member of the "Four Horsemen of the AHWI " led by his oldest brother Majestic Swift. He was also Youth Organizer, Outreach Chairman, and Fundraising Supervisor helping to raise over $100,000.00 for Grassroots Organizations, families in need, and community efforts in Baltimore City, Inter- nationally, and The Solute To The Elders Celebration Events throughout the life of the AHWI. He also taught math, art, and self defense during the AHWI 2013-2014 youth summer programs.
Victorious graduated from Barclay Elementary and briefly attended Booker T. Washington Middle School for Theater/Music. While there he received a new bike from Ravens player Ed Reed of the Ed Reed Founda- tion for his honors status. The department dismantled after a few months and all of his friends fled to the newly opened Baltimore Design School (BOS). He immediately asked if he could follow his friends to BOS and without skipping a beat, BOS became Victorious' second family. Victorious is a member of BOS' first graduating class of 2017.
A youth advocate and member of the Algebra Project (a youth run organization) under the guidance of President Oshai Robinson. The Algebra Project advocates for the rights of students to receive superior edu- cation and compatible funding for inner city schools nationwide, sometimes shutting down school board meetings demanding funds for a competitive education for inner city youth. Also; through the Algebra Project, Victorious tutored math in the Baltimore City after school program.
His love for MMA (mixed martial arts) and self defense was instilled in him early in life. At the age of five he and his brother Magnificent trained with The International Capoeira Angola Foundation Baltimore City that his fighting spirit came to life. At the age of seven he and his brother Magnificent also became members of The Urban Youth Initiative Project under the guidance of founders Imhotep, Ife', and Sekou Fatiu. Elder Locy Lamumba combined Tae Kwon Do with Afrikan History as a way of mental and physical empowerment. Victorious earned his green belt before falling in love with the MMA fighting style. It was this love that lead him to the door of Umar Boxing organization. Umar's became Victorious' third home under the guidance of Marvin McDowell.
At ten Victorious performed with his sister Harmonie, his brother Magnificent, and his mother Victory in the production of The Belly of A Woman written by Margret Locklear, directed by Gordon Parks. He was also in the last episode of the Wire's fourth season (The final Grade) as a walk on. He would often bring down the house with poetry recitals of Langston Hughes, poetry written by his mother or by local poet and author Sareena Jones. He was a member of Womb Works Productions under the guidance of Mamma Kaye Lawai, performing summer stock. At 13 years old he was hired by The Producers to perform in a video series that is now used in the elementary school systems nationwide, teaching students about the weather and clouds systems. He beat out 500 other children for the part in the series.
Anyone who ever met Victorious would know instantly that music was his signature. If he wasn't writing music, collecting beats, or singing at the top of his lungs, he was rapping his heart out with his oldest brother Majestic, his nephews Prince Charming, Quinton, Freedom and anyone who he could inspire or be inspired by. He was born into an entertainment family of singers, poets, artists, dancers, natural born comedians, and actors. Sharp witted, he never missed an opportunity to be caught up in the world wind of family events and talent shows. He and his mother would jump out of the car at red lights and dance as hard as they could and jump back in the car once the light turned green. Other drivers were so blown away with laughter that they never blew their horns when the light turned green. When he wasn't with family and friends, he lived at the recording studio working on both conscience and street rap. Music was his heartbeat, his life's blood. His words were swords cutting through life awakening, empowering and enlightening everyone around him.
He could be seen riding through the city day and night in the Spring and Summer on his skateboard. For Victorious there was no north, east, south or west Baltimore, it was just Baltimore and his skate board took him everywhere. At eighteen, he bought his first car; a 2004 Dodge Charger. He only had half of the money, but once the seller met him she fell in love with his spirit and his smile and when she took $500.00 off the sales price, he picked her up, twirled her around and told her that he loved her, she couldn't stop grinning!
Victorious entered the world already an uncle of two nephews and one niece: he was best known to his 13 nieces and nephews as uncle Vickie. Victorious loved all of his nieces and nephews deeply, just seeing them together you could see they" lit up his life". He was the bridge between the siblings, nieces and nephews. I will never forget when his nephew Freedom realized that Victorious was his uncle (a real uncle). He asked Victorious, "who are you to my mom 7, Victorious replied "I'm her brother". Freedom then began to question the lineage of the other aunts and uncles to Victorious. He was in shock! Although he called him uncle Vickie, He was one of them. Freedom said, " so now I have to respect you like a real uncle "? Victorious said "yeah" and grabbed Freedom swung him in the air and they began to wrestle The thought went as fast as it came. Freedom later said that he was more to his older Siblings he was simply, The Golden Child. The Victory Seven often spoke of a family television show. Their collective attributes made them an extremely entertaining bunch. He has such adoration for all of his siblings. Adoration for him was evident in every way. When the 7 of them were together, WATCH OUT!! They have an energy that empowered them as if they were Voltron, plus two, and nothing could stop them. Because he was the youngest, he absorbed pieces of every sibling, while also having his own individuality. Heavenly gave him intelligence, vanity, confidence, a thirst for knowledge, and over the top flare. Majestic was the first man in his life and gave him knowledge of self, charm, creativity, and a passion for entertaining. Harmony, who's also his zodiac twin, gave him sensitivity, empathy, accountability, and knowledge of how to treat a woman. Ch e r is h gave him youthfulness, the pursuit of education, and the uncanny ability to hustle. Jazz taught him how to be an independent explorer, peace, and how to be a risk taker. Magnificent gave him inner and outer strength, and taught him to protect the weak, and the honor of locks. We all gave him talent, humor, silliness, fearlessness, pack mentality (to kill or die for one another), wisdom, patience, humility (though contradictory, but still applies), and family over everything.
