Virgie Marie Allen, the daughter of the late Mary T. Williams and the lat Warren Scurry, Dr., was born on November 1, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was one of nine children. Virgie departed this earthy life on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Gilchrist Hospice Center after a lengthy illness. She received her education in Baltimore, Maryland. She was employed and retired from the Meridian Nursing Home in Severna Park, Maryland. She gave birth to two daughters. Two daughters, Patricia and Alveta. Virgie was kind, had a sweet way about her, but most importantly, she loved God! Virgie joined and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland under the pastorate of Dr. Harold Carter. She also attended Leadenhall Baptist Church, South Baltimore, Maryland and Love is the Key Ministries in Millersville, Maryland. Although Virgie enjoyed gardening, shopping and other hobbies over the years, her absolute enjoyment was caring for Tweety, her cockatiel. Virgie leaves to cherish her loving memory, her daughters, Patricia and Alveta, one sister, Rebecca, five step-sisters, Carol, Carolyn, Delores, Lenette and Phyllis, one step-brother, Warren, Jr., two grandsons, Stefan and Shawn who preceded her in death, one nephew, Lonnie, four nieces, Wanda, Marcia, Shawnice and Shawna the twins and a host of other relatives and friends.
