Wade Johnson was born on May 1, 1933 in Southern Pine, North Carolina the son of the late Preston and Roxcella Johnson. After a lengthy illness, he went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2006. He recevied his education in North Carolina public schools and served in the United States Army and served in the Reserve from May 1951 to January 1957. He was employed at Sparrows Point, and then later became employed by the Batimore City Sanitation Department where he remained until he retired. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Masonic Order. In the spring of 1956 he met and married a wonderful woman, Dorothy Johnson. Wade was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a true soldier; he fought the fight, now the war is over. The battle is no longer his, it's the Lord's. He leaves to mourn: his wife, Dorothy Johnson; eight childred, Naomi Waters John, Larry Turner, Wanda Mark Joe of North Carolina, Rodney, Renee, Darlene, Glandora, and Wade Johnson; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; six sisters, Sallie Mae Rae, Margaret Stephens Lee, Bertha Pollard, Jimmie Lee Hatcher, Queen E.
