Walter C. Walker, better known and "Bunny", was born to the proud parents of Harry Walker Sr. and the late Daisy L. Walton, on May 8, 1950 in Mullins, South Carolina. Bunny was raised in Baltimore, Maryland most of his life. He accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior. He was the father of two beautiful children, a daughter, Kamila S. Scott and a son, Tarik L. Walker, who preceded him in death. Bunny departed this life on March 26, 2014, after a lengthy illness. He received his education at Baltimore City College, graduating in June of 1968. At the age of eighteen, he joined the United States Air Force, where he was trained and served for four years (1968-1972) in the Vietnam War as a Staff Sergeant. He received many certificates of completion in various USAF trainings. Walter's performance of duty, working relations, supervision and acceptance of non- commissioned officer (NCO) responsibility was exceptional labove average. His overall evaluation on his staff sergeant performance report, on a scale from 0-9, was a nine in all categories. Major Francis L. Oswald wrote, "His leadership ability has won him the highest respect of both his superiors and sub-ordinates." Staff Sergeant Nicholas T. Maitland wrote: "Sgt Walker's most valuable attributes are his motivations, aggressive approach to all problems and his desire to do any assigned job to the best of his ability. Sgt Walker's appearance both on and off duty is outstanding and his conduct sets the example for others to follow." In June of 1972, Walter received an "HONORABLE" discharge for his service. After serving in the USAF, he was employed at Hecht's Baltimore Distribution Center as afork lifter and also as a groundskeeper for BW1 Airport. He leaves to cherish memory: daughter, Kamila Scott; son-in- law, Andre Scott; grandsons, Angelo and De'shon Walker; granddaughter, Kaylah Green; his brother, Clark Walker; sister-in-law, Joanne Walker; brother-in-law, Steve Watkins; a special friend, Marilyn Shannon and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Family preceding him in death: son, Tarik L. Walker; mother, Daisy L. Walton; brother, Harry Walker Jr.; sisters, Hazel Pearce, Dorothy Watkins and Ruby L. Clement and nephew, ~ Walter C. Watkins.
