Obituary

Wanda Vestura Little was born on March 5, 1953, in Baltimore, Maryland, the first of four children born to Milton and Serena Smith. She departed this life peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2012 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At a young age, Wanda was christened at Douglas Memorial Community Church and remained a member until adulthood. She served on the youth choir, youth fellowship and worked as a counselor at Camp Farthest Out for two summers. she later worshiped at several churches in Philadelphia, PA. Wanda was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools, earning a diploma in 1971 for Edmondson High School. While at Edmondson she studied business and participated in water ballet and archery as extra curricular activities. The summer after graduation, she married Lawrence Little and they made their home in Homestead, FL. from their union was born two children, Charmayne Dionne and Christina Dawn. Upon returning to Baltimore, Wanda worked for a short time at The Pizza Crust Company. She change her career path and worked as an admitting clerk at Lutheran Hospital. This position allowed her to develop skills that advanced her career in administration. She worked at Lutheran for more than 10 years. In 1997, Wanda moved to Philadelphia where she resided for the past 15 years. While living there, she met her devoted friend Vincent Jordon. Wanda was very outgoing and unforgettable. In her leisure time she enjoyed entertaining family and friends and singing karaoke. She appreciated all genres of music. Peter Frampton was one of her favorite artist. Wanda loved movies and could answer all types of movie trivia. give her a minute and she would tell you the title of a movie, who starred in it and other details about the movie that most people did not remember. Of the many things that Wanda enjoyed, spending quality time with family was what she treasured the most. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy. She loved to show off and brag about about her grandchildren and cook for them during the holidays. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Wanda was predeceased by her parents. she leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters; Charmayne Turner Andre and Christina Hunter; her partner, Vincent Jordan; one sister, Donna Dean Terry; one special sister, Tammi Noel; two brothers; Dexter and Damon smith; three grandchildren; Kayla Williams, Brandy Little and Kennedy copes; one nephew, Gerald Dean; one great-nephew, Gekai Dean; two uncles; William Ames Vanessa and Melvin Smith Eleanor,, four aunts; Agnes Sears, Audrey Smith, Claudette Leach and Ida Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
