Wayne Michael Whitehead, son of Will E. Whitehead and the late Jonia Robertson Whitrhead, was born on September 6, 1953 in Pittsyvania County, Virginia. He departed this life on June 23,2006, after a lengthy illness. The family moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1956. Michael attended Baltimore City public schools and granduated from Edmondson High School in 1971, during which time he battended Gilman Boys School during the summers. Upon graduation, he received a full academic scholarship to theUniversity of Maryland College Park. Michael decided to enlist in the U.S. Army in 1973, which enabled him to travel the world. He was honorably discharged in 1975.. Soon after, he gained employment with the Baltimore City waste Water Divison. He later became a Correctional Officer with the State of Maryland. Most recently he worked with his uncle in the home improvement business. He was introduced to Christ at an early ageand was baptized at the New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. In 1988, he married the former Marie White, and out of this union thrre were born, Derrick, Cystral and Kimberly. Michael made many friends and was able to communicate ans interact with people from all walks of life. he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed getting together with the guys for a good game of basketball. He leaves to mourn: his wife, Marie White; one son, Derrick Michael; two daughter, Crystal and Kimberly; one grandchild, Kaitlyn. He also leaves to cherish his memory; his father, Wil E. Whiehead; one brother, James; five sisters Gwendolyn, Patsy, Doris,Patrica and Jackie; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends.
