WENDELL A. RIDGELY, son of the late Charles S. and Clara R. Ridgely, was born January 2, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Wendell graduated from Edmondson High School in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduation, Wendell joined the workforce in various capacities. He worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground, for the State of Maryland and The Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Wendell was tenacious in nature and possessed unparalleled intellect. He, however, was only interested in using his attributes how he saw fit. Throughout his life, Wendell was intent on doing things his way - he lived his life - he did it his way. Wendell made numerous friends wherever he went, some of whom knew him as Tony. He was an avid reader and spirited sports fan. He had a keen interest in physics and medicine. He kept meticulous records pertaining to his own health and readily challenged and directed his own plan of care. Wendell was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Mae and four brothers, Charles, Edward, Earl and Melvin. Wendell's memory will be cherished by: his daughter, Kimberly; grandson, Ryan; brother, Vernon (Doris); four sisters, Ernestine, Doris, Doretha and Wahseeola; sister-in-law, Louise; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
