Obituary

Wilbert Homes, beloved son of the late Wilbur and Sarah A. Holmes was born February 17, 1966 in Baltimore, Maryland. Wilbert departed this life on Saturday, March 21, 2009 after a short illness. Wilbert was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system and graduated from Lake Clifton High School. He was employed for several years at Westinghouse and for many years work under his brother as a contractor in construction. He recently decided to return to school to pursue opportunities in other work areas. Wilbert became a member of the Love Crown Church and was blessed to receive God in his life through the spiritual guidance of Bishop Randolph and Pastor Beverly Corporal who were like a mother and father to him. Through the Grace of God he discovered that he loved going to church, attending Bible classes and visiting other churches with his children. The church members grew to love him and embraced him like a brother. Wilbert's generosity and love for people, was an inspiration to all who knew him. His children were his pride and joy and being a devoted father became a top priority in his life. Wilbert also had a great passion for animals. He had a special bond with his family dag Kemo. Those who knew Wilbert loved him for his kind heart and his willingness to talk to everyone. His easy-going spirit allowed many people to gravitate towords him. He will be surely missed by all those who had the pleasure to come in contact with him. Wilbert leaves to mourn his children, Chawn, Dondre', Xavier and Zyara, who he fondly call is little "princess." Two grandchildren, Shawn Jr. and Da'Von. One devoted brother Robert L. Holmes, five loving sisters, Sara A. Tate, Barbara Holmes, Carolyn Holmes, Marie Karega and Lisa Holmes. One sister-in-law, Margo Holmes, one brother-in-law Clifford Karega. Four uncles, George Holmes Olie, Mack, James and Joe Davis. Six aunts, Lessie, Ada, Elloree, Georgia, Connie and Lena. He also leaves to mourn a host of beloved nieces, nephews and many friends, especially devoted friends Yvette, Pastor Beverly, Mrs. Barbara and Fiancee' Cynthia. Your family loves you Wilbert, But God loves you best. We will never ever forget you four children lives on through you and we will carry on your legacy with them. The journey is done here and now you shall have eternal peace forever.
