Wilbur Lloyd Mills, Sr., was born on December 18, 1937 in Littleton Halifax county North Carolina t9o the late Ruth E. Martin and John royter. He passed peacefully from this life on the afternnon of February 19, 2011, surrounded and supported by his loving family, four days before what would have been his 53rd wedding anniversity. At the age of four Wilbur jioned the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North carolina. "Lloyd" as he was affectionately known, graduated from Mclver High school in 1956. Lloyd later jioned the rest of his family in Baltimore, Maryland who had relocated several years before. Later he met the love of his life Lee Brown. They were married on February 23, 1958. five children were born of this happy union, Wilbur Lloyd Mills, Jr., Bridget Dashelee Mills, Sheryl Louis Meeks, Russell Dermont Mills, and Barbara Mills. Lloyd started his career at Helfrich Lumber Company, in Baltimore, Maryland as a truck driver. Later Lloyd jioned Hajoca Corporation, locate in Halethrop, Maryland where he was employed as a professional crane truck operator. He retired after 31 years of faithful service. Lloyd was a devoted father and grandfather, always willing to lend a helping hand to all. He considered everybody to be friend even strangers. Lloyd was also a devoted fan of his beloved baltimore Orioles baseball team thru thick and thin, win or lose. Lloyd's neighbors of fourty-nine years could always count on him. He gave of himself in so many ways. Lloyd leaves this life to jion those who have preceded him in death; his stepfather Milo G. Martin, Sr., his sister Maxine Ashe and brother Roderick Mills. He also leaves to mourn his loss his wife Joyce L. Mills, three sisters Marcell Swinson, Patricia Jones, and sybil thomas one brother Milo g. Martin, Jr., oone sister-in-law Margaret Robertson, and two brothers-in-law, one daughter-in-law Terrie Mills, one son-in-law William Meeks, fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Lloyd also leaves a hos of nieces, nephews and friends to mourn his loss.
