Wilford Johnson, son of the late Willie and Viva Johnson, was born on January 21, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended the public schools [Robert Brown Elliot School No. 104 and Francis M Wood No. 178] of Baltimore, City. At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church, currently located North Monroe Street, Baltimore, MD under the late Dr. Harold A, Carter, Sr.

Wilford better known as "Sig' was always full of sunshine and kept a smile on his face. He loved the Lord with all his heart and that love was evident. He had a great love for gospel music and could always be found playing his guitar. He was a faithful servant and loved listening to his pastor preach .: Come rain or shine he would walk down to his church to fellowship with the saints. He never missed a service unless he was sick and unable to attend.

Sig was a people person and loved all his family members. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He quietly departed this life Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Viva Johnson; his sisters Paulette, and Joanne; and his brother George.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his brothers Savoid Johnson, Leevem Johnson, Allision Johnson, Phillip Johnson; sisters, Georgia Johnson, Claudette Oliver of Manning, SC, Willie Mae Rivers of New York, NY, Betty Johnson, Linda Johnson, Sintan Johnson, and Francine Johnson; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
