Obituary

Our Heavenly Father came and plucked a full grown flower from among us on Friday, March 27, 2015. The Lord came and called His angel, Willa Blanche Willies. Willa Blanche Willies was born on February 25, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Norah Collin DuBose, Sf. and Laura Mae DuBose. Blanche, as most people called her, was the oldest of 5 siblings. Her husband, James and her two brothers, Clarence and Norah (Darby), preceded her in death. Blanche met and married James O. Willies, Jr. in March of 1963. This holy union was blessed with three sons: James, III, Antoino (Tony) and Michael. Blanche was educated in the Baltimore City School system. Blanche worked at the Social Security Administration part-time for several years until she began working full-time at Loyola University until her retirement in 2006; after 20 years of service. Blanche was a member of the Collective Christian Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Edward McLaurin, Jr. Blanche always enjoyed listening to the Choir and Pastor sing. She always sat in the same seat every Sunday she could attend. Blanche loved people. When you met her she would always be the same from the first day to the last. Blanche also loved to watch TV and travel. She loved to listen to music. Two of her favorite gospel songs were No Body Greater Than You (VaShawn Mitchell) and Take Me to The King (Tamala Mann). Her favorite R&B song was Tonight is the Night (Betty Wright). Blanche leaves to cherish her memories: 3 sons: James, III, Antoino (Tony) and Michael; 1 daughter: Adrienne Hayden; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Linda Bay top, Carolyn DuBose and Barbara Sutton; 2 daughters-in-law: Lisa Willies and Tonia Jackson; 3 sisters-in-law; 1 brother in-law; 1 uncle, William T.
