IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willene
Knox
July 28, 1956 – August 18, 2025
We gather with heavy hearts to honor the life and legacy of Willene Knox, a beloved wife; mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025 at the age of 69. Born on July 28, 1956, in Darlington, South Carolina, Willene was the cherished daughter of the late Harold and Alline Horton. From a young age, she embodied warmth, compassion, and strength— qualities that would define her life and the countless relationships she nurtured throughout the years. For many years, Willene fostered those attributes by caring for clients for more than 37 years in the healthcare system. Willene was a woman of deep love and commitment. As a wife, she stood faithfully beside her husband, sharing a life built on partnership, faith, and unconditional love. As a devoted and loving mother her love, guidance, and care shaped the life of her only child. She also found immeasurable joy in nurturing her grandchildren and they adore her deeply. She was also a treasured sister and aunt, always offering a listening ear, a kind word, or a hearty laugh when it was needed most. To her friends, Willene was a constant source of love, light, and loyalty. Her presence brought comfort, and her wisdom left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Whether through her warm conversations, acts of service, or unwavering support, she touched lives in meaningful ways every single day. Willene's legacy is one of love, resilience, and family. She will be remembered not only for the roles she played but for the kindness she gave so freely and the strength she demonstrated in every season of life.
She is survived by Rosetta Oliver (sister), James E. Knox, Jr (son), James III (Pearl), Jahiem, Jayon, Jaron, Javon (grandsons), Jayden (great grandson), LaTonya (niece), and Corey (nephew). She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alline Horton, her loving husband, James E Knox, Sr, sister, Harriet Horton, and nephew, Creighvion Benjamin. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.
