Obituary

Will i am Leonard Bates JR, was the oldest son to the late William and Janie Bates. He went home to be with his Heavenly family on Friday, June 13, 2014. "BILLY" as he was affectionally known, was educated in the Baltimore Public School system. He served in the National Guard. He was also known as "HOOK" due to his bow legs. Billy worked from a young man until retirement age. He was a quiet person, but a very loveable one. He was a very good dancer in his younger days and love to have fun on the weekends. He was the husband of Dora (Sis) Elizabeth Bates, although they were separated, they never lost contact with each other. They were childhood sweethearts who were united in marriage on July 28, 1962. They were married for 52 years and from this union came four beautiful children. Doreen (decease) Rodney, Bryant (decease) and Alease. Billy had a nickname for all his nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He will be truly missed by ail of his family and friends. Billy leaves to cherish his memory: his wife and best friend "Sis" , his son Rodney, his daughters, Alease, Rochelle, Yarnell, Valerie and Tylette. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Janie Beasley, Jeanette Payne and Mary Bates.Ione sister preceded him in death, Virginia Bates) Three brothers Donald.
