William A. Bowling Jr., son of the late William A. Sr. and Ruby Bowling was born on March 18,1936 in Roanoke, Virginia. He departed this life on February 13, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He received his education in Roanoke Virginia Public School and continued his education in Baltimore City Public School. William did love the Lord and received Christ as his savior at an early age at Sweet Union Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia. Later in life William joined City Temple Baptist Church of Baltimore, Maryland, under the leadership of Rev. Payne. On August 8, 1953 William enlisted in the Marine Corps and spent two years in Korea, witnessing the horrors of that conflict. In 1960 William married Corrine Willis and out of this union five children were born Michelle, Michael, William III BKA(Woodie), Robert and Durine Bowling. William had various jobs, such as Bethlehem Steel, but his most favorite was Motion Picture Operator in Baltimore, Maryland. He also worked for CHAI( Comprehensive Housing Assistance INC) for twelve years and retired on December 21, 2006. His interest was music and playing cards. He became a Disc Jockey and played in various night clubs and other social events. He made numerous friends wherever he went and will be sincerely missed by his loving family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Corrine Bowling; two daughters, Michelle Bowling and Durine Bowling; three sons, Michael Bowling, William A. Bowling III and Robert Bowling; one daughter-in-law, Shen- ette Bowling; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Otelia Spivey, Martha Stevens, Evelyn Holland and Irma Payne; three brothers-in-law, George Stevens, James Byrd(Lena Byrd) and Emanuel Holland; one father-in-law, Thomas Lawrence and one step- mother-in-law, Mary Lawrence; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
