William Dempsey Barnes, affectionately known as Dempsey was the only
son of the late Katie Barnes (Hall) and Otis Craig. He was born on 22 July
1943 in Greene County, North Carolina.

Dempsey and his mother later moved to Baltimore where he was educated
through the Maryland School System and drafted into the Army. Upon
completing his military service, he obtained employment with the Interna-

tional Longshoreman's Association. .

Dempsey was a man of few words but was fun to be with. He enjoyed being
with his family and friends, travelling and eating.

He went to be with the Lord on 16 March 2019.

Left to cherish his memory are three daughters: Dana Barnes, Tracy Barnes,
and Jacquille Henson; three granddaughters, one grandson, and six great
grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
