William P. Griffin, Jr., B.K.A. Sonny, was boren on May 1, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late William and Mildred Smith Griffin. William was the second child out of seventeen children. He departed his life suddenly on Wednesday, March 8, 2006. Sonny received his education at Dunbar High School, wehere he took up a trade in mechanics and singing. In the late 1960's Sonny was a member of a group called The Carnaters. He attended Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. Smith. He had many talents. he worked at the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, Broadway Services, in home improvement and many more. Sonny loved to sing and make friends with many people. He was a loving and kind person. Sonny had a lot of love for his family. He will be sincerely missed by everyone who know him. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving wife, Joann Griffin; two stepchildren, Steven and Beverly; four sisters, Brenda Jones, Gloria Lawson, Gertrude and Vanessa Griffin; eight brothers, Roland, Ronald, Vondell, Albert, Wrren and Kevin Griffin two brothers preceded him in death, Mark and Stanley griffin; four sisters-in-law, Juliet and Idelia Elease and Pat Griffin; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews and friends including very close friends of the family, Eric Johnson.
