The son of the late Henry Haskell Roberts and Beulah Mae (Sturgis) Roberts. Henry or "Hank", as family and friends knew him affectionately, was born on May 25, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. He suddenly departed this life on January 5, 2014. Hank was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system and graduated from Dunbar High School. After high school he joined the United States Navy in 1961. He met and married Anna Ward-Bey of Baltimore on November 12, 1976, in Baltimore Maryland and they had two children, Antwon, "Man" and Analissa "Ladi". They remained friends until his death. Hank cherished his and family and friends including his other two children "Little Hank" of Baltimore, and Timi of Baltimore, as well as his four grand-daughters. During his younger years he was an avid basketball player who was well known for his skills on the basketball court. He followed all kind of sports throughout his life, especially his home team the Baltimore Ravens. Hank enjoyed reading books, listening to music, and watching movies. He had an extensive collection of both. Everything he enjoyed he wanted to share with his family and friends. His smile was infectious and everyone he met was made to feel like a life long friend. He was especially open to young people, as he loved to talk and joke with them. Hank worked for 18 years for the Baltimore City sanitation department from which he retired after many years of hard work and dedication. Hank was preceded in death by his youngest son Antwon Chilion Roberts. He will truly be missed. He leaves to cherish his memory, those who were devoted to him: wife, Anna Roberts-El; two daughters, Timi Sophia Roberts and Analissa Henee Roberts; one son, William "Hank" Roberts Jr.(Tammy); one sister, Martha Rae Roberts; four granddaughters, Kori Nicole Roberts, Hallah Roberts-Ingram, McKenzie Taylor, and Kamryn Dayle Roberts; his niece Ornetta Craig; his nephew Michael Erby; his special friend, Barbara Taylor; a dear friend, Regina Waller, and a host of other family and friends to numerous to count, but he loved us all.
