William A. Smith beloved son of the late Lillian E. Marner (nee Smith) and stepson of John W. Marner was born September 9, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. God called him home to rest on December 15, 2013. After graduation from Catonsville High School, William worked at a variety of jobs, many of them related to automobile repairs. William loved working with his hands and spent much time repairing things for himself, his family, friends and neighbors. If he saw a repair was need- ed, he offered to do it. William spent several years playing the drums, the saxophone and the guitar in night clubs in New York City. When William returned to Catonsville from New York he returned to the home of his loving parents. There he lived out his life being a big brother to the foster kids who came into their home and a loving cousin to his many cousins. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory: his uncle, Elijah Marner (Shirley); his cousins, Jonathan Hale, Robert Marner (Mildred), Tim Marner (Dorothea), Velmer Glasco, Marlon Marner (Kim), Orlando Marner (Patsy), Everett Marner (Diane), Eric Marner (Alicia) and many other cousins and friends.
