William was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Robert and
Novella Preston. William passed peacefully from this life
February 15, 2016 after a gradual decline in health. He
received his education through the Baltimore City School
System. He later married Stella Louise Townes who preceded
him in death. From this union were four children, Danina,
Maurice, William and Lynette.
"Junior" as he was affectionately known was a laborer for Potts
and Callahan for many years. He served in the United States
Army and Marines. He loved spending time with his family,
playing spades telling jokes and loved a good meal and always
said his mother was the best cook he knew.
William accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age.
He was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
He leaves to mourn four children: Danina Ward, Maurice Ward,
William Ward and Lynette Long. Nine grandchildren, fifteen
great grandchildren all of Baltimore, three sisters Sharon
Johnson, Mary Sewell and Idella Anderson of Florida one Aunt
Clara Hamlin and one uncle Robert Hamlin two sister n laws
Audrey Royster and Barbara Townes and a host of relatives
