Obituary

William Arthur ("Billy") Wooten Jr. was born during a blizzard, February 16, 1958, to William Wooten and Louise Wooten-Williams. Billy attended Baltimore City Public Schools and went to Job Corps. He worked as a young adult at Wooten's family businesses. He held many jobs and became disabled working for Broadway Transportation as a driver. He was later hospitalized with a brain tumor where he had to re-learn to walk, speak, and write. He always said, "I Will Never Get Cut on Again!" After a miraculous recovery, he held small part-time jobs during the holidays and started driving for Uber and Lyft. Driving was his passion. He was employed at Amazon for four years until his departure.

On Tuesday September 16, 2025, it was discovered that Billy had passed away unexpectedly due to heart failure, and that day our lives drastically changed.

Billy was such a loving, caring, funny, and well-dressed gentleman who loved driving, traveling, cruising, and having a fun time. He would travel from state-to-state driving, of course, and one day conquer his fear of flying. He never looked back. He became a traveling agent, William "Dramafreegetaway" Wooten and traveled everywhere you can think of but never had any MONEY. He sponsored trips to amusement parks, ski resorts, all-inclusive getaways, and loved cruising on the Legend Carnival. Either you were with him, or you were not!

He was a rare special person who LOVED his family and his extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren. He could light up a room when he enters saying, "Ayee!" He also would drive to check up on his elderly family members and friends in and out of town by popping up at their doorsteps with or without notice, along with his blow-up bed at his disposal. He was hilarious, but they loved it! You could always count on him to get you where you need to be until you got on his bad side. Here comes the drama!

He loved GOD, his spiritual family and music, and. a good ole time. William Arthur (Billy) Wooten ENJOYED HIS LIFE!

Billy is survived by Sandra Dow and their children Kisha Wooten (Jamal); Leshawn Bell, and two stepchildren: India and Marvin. 12 grandchildren: Bre, Jv, Qwun, Heem, Keasia, Zy, Bria, Zariah, Ty, Lil Booda, Kaleia, King, BJ, 3 great grands with one on the way, and his many godchildren, his father William Wooten, his beloved sister, Sandra Wooten and brothers Lamar and Derrick Wooten, several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, his adopted family that he loved dearly, his traveling partner to the end, Cousin Lisa Hampden, a host of other 2nd, and 3rd generation cousins that are truly, truly loved, and special friends Bishop C L Adams and family, and our newfound family member, Montrell. Billy was preceded by death by his mother, Louise Williams, niece Kashay Davis and nephews Marvin Wooten and David McLaughlin, Jr.

Billy, you have left us this fall season to hibernate from that big blizzard, to prepare for your quiet storm. WE LOVE YOU and YOU CANNOT BE REPLACED!
