Willie James Butler, son of the late Henry and Mary Butler, was born November 17, 1927 in Barnwell, South Carolina. On Sunday February 7, 2010, he departed this life. Willie attended Douglas High School in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduation he enlisted in the Unied States army where he served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. In 1975, he retired after 30 years of service. Once retried, Willie began working as a security officer for Burn's Security, where he was a dedicated and hard working employee. In 1974, he married Hilda Roberts. Willie was a loving husband and good father. willie or Pop as he was more affectionately called, enjoyed cooking, watching old war movies and baseball. He also enjoyed riding through Baltimore City visiting family and friends. Willie leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Hilda Butler; one son, Roderick; two step daughters, Agnes and Cheryl; four step sons, Andrew, Michael, Bryan and Terrance; one brother, Levy Green of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Eartha Haines of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; one devoted couxin, George Dunbar; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchhildren, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one step son, Kelvin L.; one step daughter, Deborah and one sister, Rosalie Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
