Obituary

Willie Childers, the eldest child of the late James and Charity Felder Childers was born on July 11, 1938 in Summerton, South Carolina. On December 4, 2009, Willie departed this earthly life to receive his Heavenly reward. "Boo-Zoo", as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was educated in the St. James and Mt. Zion church schools in Clarendon County, South Carolina. Where he also attended and was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. As a young man Willie left South Carolina in search of his place in the world. He briefly lived in Florida and New York before settling in Baltimore, Maryland in the mid 1960's. There he met and married Juanita Carter Childers, who preceded him in death. He was blessed to have three children Will, David and Shante. He loved working with his hands and found his forte in construction. When traveling around the city he was proud to point out the numerous buildings he help to construct. He happily retired after working in construction for over 30 years. After retiring Willie was able to spend his time traveling and visiting the ffamily and friends he loved. In earlier years he loved attending wrestling matches with his kids. In later years his passion became watching old western -all day long. Fond and loving memories will cherished by two sons, Willie Dwight and John David Childers; one daughter, Rebecca Shante' childers; one ddaughter-in-law, Pamela Russsell-Childers; three grand-daughters, Juanita Allegra, Karlyssa Margan and Cydnei Paige-Childers; two sisters, Fozia Childers Thurston and Dorothy Childers James; two brothers-in-law, Jonathan Thurston and Leon B. Carter; one siter-in-law Dorothy L, Walker; two aunts, Louise F. Hilton and Bessie felder; two nephews, Kenneth and Jonathan Thruston Jr., one niece, Lorraine James; one special cousin Pauline Nelson; his dear friend thelma Simms and a host of loved ones sure to miss his laughter.
