Obituary

WILLIE A. DeLAINE, daughter of the late Midge Greenlee and Willie Greenlee was born on September 26, 1949 in Morristown, Tennessee, She was raised by Ada Clarke who instilled in her the meaning of accepting Christ as her Personal Savior at an early age. She departed this life on March 20, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Peggy, as she was affectionately called received her education in the Morristown Public School System. She later attended Morristown College where her love for music and singing grew. She was also a talented pianist. Peggy often told stories of her touring instead of being in class. During her college years she met and married Arthur DeLaine. They moved to Chicago, Illinois to begin there life together. Out of this union came Ophelia and Arthur Jr. Upon leaving Chicago she relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. She obtained various jobs. She was a Teacher's Aide for the Baltimore City Public School System, a Fingerprint Specialist for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. and also various housekeeping jobs in Baltimore until her illness prevented her. Peggy was known for her giving spirit and her beautiful smile. It was her eyes that grasped the attention of her companion Richard Williams. They met in 1984 and remained inseparable. She often referred to him as her "Black Rat". Peggy made numerous friends along the way. People were drawn to her never judging ways. She had a natural love for everybody. She adopted many as her own, especially Nessy, Ken-Ken and their daughter Asia. Peggy favorite hobbies included watching horror films, and being an avid reader of Stephen King's novels. She enjoyed having friends over and having a good time. Peggy leaves to cherish her memory: special friend, Richard Williams; son, Arthur Steve DeLaine, Jr. Jennifer; daughter, Ophelia Ada Lucille DeLaine-Walker Dwayne; three grandchildren, Anthony DeLaine, Keisha Delaine and Quentavion Johnson; cousin, Marva Blevins and a host of other relatives and friends.
