WILLIE DAVE PETERKIN, was born March 15, 1930 in Scotland County, North Carolina. On Wednesday, September 07, 2025, after a lengthy illness, God sent an Angel down to take His son home for an eternal rest at the age of 95.

Willie was a special child, cherished by his parents, the late Jimmie Peterkin and Lizzie Davies-Peterkin. He was best known to family and friends as "Newton". He was the youngest of eight children, all who preceded him except his oldest sister, Sylvia Jones, who is a loving 103. It was a large family who shared lots of love.

Newton and his parents moved to Baltimore in the 1950's, and in 1960 most - of his siblings moved north. He possessed a strong character and a unique sense of humor, Newton was well groomed, clean, pressed clothes and shoes shined/polished all the time. Newton could always be heard laughing while watching his favorite shows on TV. When he was asked to perform any tasks or to assist anyone, he was always willing. He had a special fondness for watches, especially his watch with the chain on it. When asked, Newton would show that watch off to whomever wanted to see it. While living with his youngest sister, Ella Mae, he became quite a skilled handyman; always assisting in household tasks. Newton had a close relationship with his oldest sister, Sylvia always called Newton "her baby brother". Newton and Sylvia had a wonderful relationship even when at times they didn't always agree. Newton will be missed by all who knew him.

Newton had siblings who preceded him in death: brothers, Jimmy Peterkin, James (brother) Peterkin; sisters, Lilia Brown, Clara Fleming, Elizabeth Green, and Ella Mae Reid. Newton leaves behind his oldest sister, Sylvia Jones; nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family and friends.
