Willis Billy Robert Palmer, Sr., son of the late Willis William Tabb and Iona Dorrice Green, was born on March 9, 1937. He departed this life on April 3, 2008 after a short illness. Billy's career began with the Air Force in 1955 and continued for twenty-one years. He retired from the Air Force in 1976 with numerous citations and awards. After retirment from the Air Force, his career continued as a mail carrier. He worked at the Waverly/Roland Park Post Office for an additional sixteen years where he also received several citations and awards. Palmer, as he was affectionately known to all, was a quiet yet gentle man. He was always giving selflessly to everyone. He was a dedicated father and grandfather with a heart of gold. We could and would always depend on him. He was mild mannered, generous, very modest and had a wonderful sense of humor. Palmer loved to watch all sports, especially the Ravens and Orioles. He loved to attend games with family and friends. Palmer leaves to mourn; his wife of fifty-one years, Vivian Palmer; two children, Willis R. Palmer Jr. and Yvette Williams; devoted son-in-law, Dwayne Williams; eight grandchildren, Dwight Palmer, Shaun Cozart, Chinell Palmer, Tiffany Palmer, NaTasha Palmer, Andre Russell, LaToya Russell, and LaTosha Russell; five great-grandchildren, Christian, Dwight, DeAndre, Price and Kali; two brothers, Edward and Michael; mother-in-law, Carmelia Shaw; sisters-in-law, Jean Froneberger and Ethlyn Green; uncle, James Newby; aunt, Dorothy Creek; several nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
