Obituary

YOLANDA INEZ PINKNEY was born on May 3, 1984 in

Baltimore, Maryland to the late Daphane Rene Pinkney and Robert

McGee. While at home she slipped quietly from labor to reward on

the sunrise of May 1, 2022.

Yolanda, better known as "Ham" by her family and closest friends,

attended the New All Saints Catholic Parish School and received her

Archdiocese of Baltimore Certificate for completion of the Elementary

School in 1998. Yolanda then attended the Baltimore City Public

School System from 1998-2002 where she graduated with a diploma

from the Forest Park Senior High School.

Yolanda later attended the school of cosmetology, but dropped out

to complete her training as an on site apprentice at the Impressions

Unisex Hair Salon where she worked from 2004 present. She also,

like her mother, became a Home Health Care Provider as she loved

working with people and helping the sick and elderly manage their

daily activities.

Yolanda worked both jobs working during the week as a Health Care

Provider and on the weekends as a Beautician.

Yolanda was raised in a God-fearing home environment and in her

early years attended the Gwynn Oak United Methodist Church

located in the Howard Park Community where she grew up and

flourished into a young adult. Yolanda was actively involved in

varjous church events then and for a while was a member of the

church choir.

later in life Yolanda moved on the other side of town and ended up

living in Cherry Hill for a couple of years then moved back to the

west side of Baltimore prior to her passing.

Yolanda (like her aunt Martha) was a true socialite and loved

surrounding herself with many relatives and friends. She was an avid

Facebook friend where she was loved and adored by many. Yolanda

had a heart of Gold and she adored shopping and buying people she

loved gifts even when it was for no special occasion or reason.

Yolanda was very fond of children and animals and they were equally

fond of her. She would light up the room whenever and wherever

she entered it with her bubbly smile and antics. She brought joy and

delight to all who met her.

Yolanda and her Uncle Ernest were very close. He was like a second

father to her. They grew even closer after the deaths of her aunt

Martha and her mother Daphane, leaving her very depressed at times,

causing her uncle Ernest to step up his game even more to fill the void

they left in her life; and step up he did. He made sure Yolanda and

her kids shared every Thanksgiving and Christmas together. Ernest

and Ham brought each other gifts and shared quality time with the

kids on every birthdays and most holidays throughout the year

Yolanda had two precious daughters Leila and Tahari who are two

years apart in age. These litle gills were the joy of her life and

although she was a single mom working two jobs she successfully

managed to juggle her working schedule and rearing her children

she made sure her children had a happy wholesome and normal

childhood life by exposing them to a variety of all sorts of activities

most kids would long for such as having exciting birthday parties,

going to the park, the playgrounds, the zoo, the science center. the

beach, the public pool, the state fair, the carnival, the circus, Disney

on Ice and the like. She could go on and on and that she did unt

the very end. She will truly be missed.

Yolanda leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Leila High and

Tahari High; her father Robert McGee; her sisters Rashida McGee,

Kiera McGee, Robyn McGee; her uncles, Ernest Norwood, Reginald

Starks, Cortez Starks; her aunts Tawanda McGee, Jewel Henderson;

her great aunt Alva Handy; a host of other relatives and friends.
