Obituary

ZAYONE OMAR SMITH (born ZAYONE CHARLES BURMAN) was given life on the 24th of January in 2001, to his loving parents Pamisha Swain and Linwood Smith Sr. From the beginning, his presence brought joy, love and light into the lives of all who knew him. When the heavenly gates opened on the 10th of September 2025, our Father God called his son home.

ZAYONE who was affectionately called "Fat-Fat" as a baby, later known to many as "Zay One, Big Back" and of is course, "Mr. Get It Done Shorty", received his education through the Baltimore City Public School System, where he developed a love for math, football and basketball. His natural intelligence and determination shone through at an early age, as ZAY was promoted twice during his elementary school years. Growing up ZAY discovered a passion for playing his game system, Dirt bike riding, kickboxing and Tae Kwon. Do, where his dedication and discipline earned him an orange belt. ZAY was a well - rounded young man, gifted with both book and street smarts. ZAY carried a presence that was impossible to miss - always making an impression wherever he went.

One thing we can all say about ZAY is that he never stopped learning. If there was something he didn't know or understand, he took it upon himself to educate and better himself. In 2024, ZAY joined the ROCA program, which provided him with GED classes, counseling and the opportunity to earn his driver's license. With his dedication and big dreams, ZAY had set his sights on becoming a truck driver.

ZAY always cherished family time. He loved convincing his aunts to make his favorite dishes and he treasured the talks and advice he received from his uncles, holding those moments close to his heart. ZAY spoiled and agitated his niece Ry'Lee and. nephew Cody every chance he got, knowing just how to make them laugh and Rolling their eyes at same time. ZAY had a way of keeping things lively, filling any room he entered with energy and laughter.

The bond ZAY shared with his siblings was truly unbreakable. To them, ZAY wasn't just a brother, but a protector, a confidant and a best friend. He had a heart that was loyal, loving and big enough to embrace | everyone around him. No matter what life brought his way, ZAY's family was always at the center of his world, and his presence will forever be felt in the love he poured into them.

In 2021, ZAY met his partner SANAA and together they built a bond that would change his life forever, On February 2023, they welcomed his greatest blessing, his daughter ZOIE LYNN SMITH. From that very moment, ZAY was overjoyed to be a father, and ZOIE quickly became the center of his world. From the beginning ZAY had a special way of showing his love calling her "Butt-Ugly" which in his words always meant) Beautiful". He never missed a beat in her life, making every appointment, showing up to her school activities and - cherishing every little moment they shared. Some of ZAY's happiest times were the simplest ones - sitting side by side with ZOIE watching movies, laugher together and creating memories filled with joy, love and a bond that will last forever.

ZAY's legacy of love lives on through the family he cherishes deeply. At the end of that legacy is his Greatest Blessing, his BELOVED daughter ZOIE LYNN SMITH, his loving parents, Pamisha Swain & Linwood Smith Sr., devoted stepfather Rasheed Nedd and Loving God-mother Natalie Wilson. ZAY is remembered with love by his siblings: from the BARBER side: RYSHEKA, RICHARD, RAY' ARNA, from the SMITH side LINWOOD JR., SHAY, JAIYAH, JAKAI, from the NEDD family his step siblings: RESHEEDA, SHANTICE, RACHE, ANGEL, NASIR, RYHEEM. ZAY is also remembered by his aunts; NICOLE, LAKISHA, CHARMON, KEYIA, uncles: CHRISTOPHER, 'ANTHONY. ZAY leaves behind his god - sister and brother IYANNA and ALEXANDER TAYLOR, a host of nieces and nephews, his goddaughter GREY CORNICK, brother from another mother FRESH (DAMIEN CORNICK) and 3 close friends DAQUAN MAYO, TIEON GARRUS and TAMONTE DODSON.

ZAY family and friends carry a special piece of ZAY in their hearts - his laughter, wisdom, stubbornness, loyalty and love will remain a guiding light, reminding them to lean on one another to cherish the love and time they | shared so freely with ZAY.
