December 18, 1952 – July 7, 2024
Zelma Inez Parrish, beloved daughter of the late John and Mozelle Garland, Sr., was born on December 18, 1952. On July 6, 2024 God called Zelma home for her eternal rest after a short illness.
Zelma was educated in Baltimore City Public School System. She graduate from Edmondson-Westside Senior High School in 1970.
On April 15, 1989, Zelma married Brian Parrish.
In the early 1990's, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she sang on the choir.
Zelma worked for Young Men's Christian Association (Y.M.C.A.) of Central Maryland as a director for over 30 years where she retired. She also worked part time for Mosaic Community Services as a rehabilitation assistant for over 20 years. She always took great pride in her work.
Zelma is preceded in death by her husband, Brian Parrish.
Zelma is survived by and leaves to cherish her memories her two children: Bruce Gray (Mary) and Nikkia Malloy (Thomas Covell); five grandchildren: Jeremiah Scott, Miracle Malloy, Kamari Malloy, Ne'Aysia Covell, and Namiyah Covell; great-grandson Ameehn Govan, Jr.; sister Malinda Garland; brother John Garland; niece Dionne Newby; nephew Hilton Gregory, Jr. and a host of other family and friends.
