Zelma Rice entered this world on Febuary 7, 1936 to the late Viola and Oscar Holmes in Georgetown, South Carolina. She transitioned from this life on Thursday Febuary 5, 2009, after five loving voices Junior, Rose Mary, Gregory. Barry and Malik Rice gentle whispered and said "come and take you rest." The one we love so dearly left us and stepped through the door eternity into the loving arms of God. Zelma received her education in Georgetown, South Carolina. Upon completing her education. In 1955 Zelma united and marry the late Junior Rice and moved to Baltimore in 1956, from this union they had six children three proceded her in death Barry, Gregory and Rose Mary Rice. The was a loving and kind person with a good heart, who loved God, and her children very dearly. Zelma touched many lives and created a precious bond with everyone who came into contact with her. The will be greatly missed. Zelma leaves to cherisdh a legacy of memories three sons Christpher Rice, Dale Rice and Dion Davis, one daughter in law Janeen Davis eight grandsons, three granddaughters, three great-grandsondsons, two great-granddaughters, one sister Edith Washington of Georgetown, South Carolina, nine sisters-in-law, Ruth Holmes, Lila, Patty, Gerty Grimmage, Mamie Britton, Anna Mae Culton, Rose Lee Closter, Joyce Rice of Greorgetown, South Carolina, Rebecca Briggs of Augusta, Georgia, two brothers-in-law Sunny Rice of New York and Herman Rice of Georgetown, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also preceded in death by five brothers Mithell Holmes, Clifford Rosie, John, Paul Grimmage, one sister Irene E. Lance and one grandson Malik Rice.
