Zeno Edward Brown, son of the late Jessie and Yula Mae Brown, was born December 28, 1942 in Pitt County, North Carolina. He departed this life on July 13,2015 after a lengthy illness. Friends and family called him by a nickname given in childhood, because his mom called him "Dickey Bird" which was later shortened to Dick by friends and family. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. After high school he gained employment at a bakery in Washington, DC. Later he worked in manufacturing at Schaefer Brewery and Westvaco Corporation for many years. He married Janice Williams on August 20, 1966 and together they raised three children, Alex Williams, Samantha Brown, and Cynthia Askew. Zeno loved sports, playing softball and horseshoes, and loved to go fishing. He was very funny and always had funny stories, say- ings, and words of wisdom for everyone. He was often seen mak- ing people cry by playing card games like Spades, as he was a fierce competitor. He also called people by funny names. He was very friendly and will be sincerely missed by everyone. Zeno was preceded in death by his siblings, Jessie, William, Nel- lie, and Hazel; daughter Samantha; and grandson, Montez. He leaves to mourn: sister, Estella; brothers, Roy and Hubert; sis-in- law, Jan; children, Alexander and Cynthia; daughter-in-law, Lora; grandchildren, Cierra, Michael, DeMarco, Clarke, Christian, Courtney, Erica, and Blair, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
