Barbara Washington

January 16, 1940 ~ February 7, 2021 (age 81)

Obituary

Barbara Washington, the daughter of the late Leo Milton and Lucy Shaw, was born on January 16, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this earthly life unexpectedly and the angels came and carried her away on February 7, 2021.

She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System.

Barbara was married to the late Harmon Washington. This union produced four sons.

Barbara gained employment at the Social Security Administration and has been a loyal employee until she retired.

Barbara's past time was spent reading, shopping, going on day trips and she loved doing puzzles and watching CNN and Fox news.

She had been a member of several churches, the most recent was Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 3459 Park Heights Avenue, She was a member of the choir. Barbara loved her church and working for Christ. In her early years, she sang with two family groups, which consisted of her late mother and three sisters and two friends, The One Way Gospel Singers and The Soul Seekers Gospel Singers. She possessed a positive attitude at all times in spite of all of her health issues. If you would ask her how she was doing, she would always say "I'm Great" and she would give GOD the glory.

Barbara passing will leave a huge void in the lives of all that knew and loved her. She will continue to stay with us all through memories.

Barbara was preceded in death by her two sons, Raynard and Micheal Shaw. She leaves to cherish in her memory: two sons, Aaron Shaw and Kevin Washington, three grandsons and two granddaughters, and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
