Corey L. Bethea, affectionately know by his family as "Shay", son of the late Clifton Bethea and Vanessa D. Bethea was born on March 24th, 1982 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021.
He attended Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School and later attended North American Trade School. Shay had an entreprenurial spirit and worked for himself. He planned to one day own Brannan's Puband buy a food truck. ON Monday and Tuesday nights you could find him watching Wrestling Smackdown, Shark Tank, local news, and cultural documentaries. If you knew him, you would find him racing one of his many remote-control cars, playing with his Oculus, or cooking for those he cared most about.
Corey was a self-proclaimed comedian. He performed a couple stand-up sets. Some people just did not find his dark humor funny; but he was funny in his own way.
When time permitted, he enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and having esoteric conversations about life. One of his favorite sayings was, "I OVERSTAND".
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Sharda Bethea; theree children Shayala Bethea, Kori Bethea, and Lla'khaiya Bethe; two grandchildren Mylaan Williams and Kingston Taylor; two sisters Shawnte Miles and Corsia Douglas; one sister-in law Sawana Bethea; one brother, three nieces Simone Reed, Zion Bethea, and Jordan Bethea; five nephews, Christopher Reed, Joshua Reed, Tysean Thomas, Rein Bethea and Ryan Bethea; his close circle of friends: Terrence "Black" Whitehurst, Michael "Snoop" Constantine, Leon Harris III, Christopher "Kane Mayfield" Reid, Larry Coates, Latoya "Toya" Watson and a host of other relatives and friends.
