Gertrude Delores Taylor, daughter of the late Idell Bennett: was born on August 22, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on March 12, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
She received her education in the Catholic School System of Maryland. After high school she gained employment with the Baltimore School System as a substitute teacher; and later she worked for Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Arlington Lewin United Methodist Church.
At a young age Gertrude met the love of her life, Robert Taylor. They married and out of their union two beautiful children were born; Rosalyn Taylor, who preceded her in death and son Robert Taylor Jr.
Gertrude, affectionately known as "Mickey", was always a joy to be around. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gertrude made numerous friends wherever she went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her.
She leaves to mourn: her son, Robert "Bobby" Taylor Jr.; brother, Mark McForbes, sister in-law, Mary Rose Starr, granddaughter, Kiesha Taylor and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
