Lendora Y. Hemsley was born to William and Maryland Hemsley at University of Maryland Hospital on February 11, 1949.
She attended Baltimore City Public Schools. Her first job was at Superior Warehouse at the age of 16. She went on to work at Graphic Arts Finishing Co for 12 years. She moved on to Perfect Books which moved to Glen Burnie and changed its name to Superior Binding where she stayed for 25 years. After that, she moved on to K&W Finishing Co where she retired. She loved her family very much and loved to cook for them and have family gatherings. She enjoyed going to her church, New Fellowship, which she joined in 1994 and became an usher the same year.
Lendora would like to thank her very best friend of over 50 years, Catherine Dickerson, for her love and friendship. She also would like to thank Mrs. Gloria Stewart for being a good friend and big sister. She also would like to thank Sis. Lorraine Garner for always encouraging her and showing love.
She is preceded in death by her parents (William and Maryland Hemsley), only sister (Eleanor Priest), and daughter (Machelle Hemsley).
She leaves to mourn: Lifetime companion and father of her children, Dennis L. Harrell who loved her dearly; three (3) children, Amelia Hemsley (Jerome), Maurice Hemsley (Paulette), and Takesia Hemsley-Crawford (Dion); "Sons in Love," Dennis Harrell Jr, and Dana Harrell (Rene); Grandchildren, Shawn, Shaneece, Jerome Jr., Maurice Jr., Marquita, Mautrice, MarDaisha, Jeremiah, MarTaze, Ian, Jordan, Antonio, Kean, Keaira, Daron, and Dana Jr.; seventeen (17) great-grandchildren; five (5) nieces and nephews, William, Juvon, Caprice, Hillary, and Calvin; two (2) God-Sisters, Babydoll and Peaches; a devoted Godson, Kenneth Watts, and a host of other relatives and friends.
