Mary Elizabeth Tomlinson passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Future Care Courtland. She was born in Smithfield, North Carolina on August 13, 1941 to the late Winslow Tomlinson and Elizabeth Rawling Tomlinson. She was preceded in death by two sons, Eric and Daniel Tomlinson and one brother John Douglas Tomlinson.
Mary received her education in the North Carolina Public School Systems. Later she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she received her license in the medical field. She was employed as a nursing assistant and a in-home caregiver.
She had a lifelong passion for helping others, she also volunteered at the Reservoir Hill Community Center. She was blessed to have an opportunity to work with one of the communities well-known philanthropist Sallie Kearsley. She was the community administrator for Mrs. Kearsley.
Mary was a caring and giving woman. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was a servant to her loved ones and was there to lend a helping hand. In 2010, she gave her life to Jesus Christ where she maintained a daily relationship with him. She had a love for her gospel music.
She leaves to mourn: one sister, Shirley Tomlinson of Baltimore, Maryland; one daughter, Aletha Murdock of Baltimore, Maryland; two sons, Sean Tomlinson (Vilese) of Chester, Maryland and John Tomlinson (Delores) of Aberdeen, Maryland; 14 grandkids, Leon Roberts, Niche' Campbell, Juan Madden, Derek Chase, Toce Brown, Eric Tomlinson Jr., Michael Tomlinson, Erica Tomlinson, Tavon Tomlinson, Jamal Tomlinson, Darius Tomlinson, Darrian Tomlinson, Daniel Tomlinson, Vincent Cole, Kenya Tomlinson, Kashawn Tomlinson; 30 great grandkids, three great great grandkids and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
