Melvin Jones

July 12, 1939 ~ June 13, 2022 (age 82)

MELVIN JONES was born an only child to the late Paul Robert Jones
of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and Alva Elizabeth Jones (Hackett)
of Baltimore, Maryland on July 12, 1939. On June 13, 2022 our beloved
closed his eyes in death, but only for a while.
In 1962, he married his former bride, Dorothy Marie Booker. From
this union, they bore four wonderful children: Cynthia Donneice Void,
Patricia Chrisandra Jones, Kevin Marcel Jones, and Paul Anthony Jones.
Melvin attended and graduated from Sollers Point High School in
Dundalk, Maryland in 1957. He excelled at baseball and was known
for those impressive line drives catches from behind his back. Melvin
worked for many years and retired from Diageo (formally known as
Seagrams). He learned the truth from his late grandmother, Susie Jones
Martin, who was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Melvin loved what he
learned. His love of Bible truths moved him to raise his four children to
love Jehovah God.
Melvin was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people.
He had a great sense of humor and was a gentle giant who loved to make
people smile. Melvin loved to draw, sing, cook and bake. He is fondly
remembered for the delicious meals and desserts he used to prepare while
singing old songs from the '60s. Not to mention his famous fried chicken
and homemade biscuits, topped off with his famous sweet potato pies. If
you have ever eaten one his meals, you had quite a tasty treat to enjoy.
Melvin will be missed by his partner in life of 24 years, Sheila Comegy»,
who was at his beside when he passed.
