Tambrille Murray Garris ( Miss Tammy ) was born July 19, 1958, in Baltimore,
Maryland to the late James O. Adams and Ruth P. Adams-Kelly. She departed
this earthly life unexpectantly on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
Tammy at an early age accepted Christ as her personal savior and attended
Bethany Baptist church for several years. Tammy received her education
through Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Western High
School. She furthered her education and earned a degree in computer coding
Tammy was joined in holy matrimony to Hugh L. Garris. They were happily
married for many years, and she remained faithfully dedicated to him and
tenderly cared for him until his death on May 4, 2018.
Tammy was employed with the Baltimore City School system for 37 years as a
paraprofessional. She cared for disabled children, which she truly loved. In her
free time, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and puzzle books and loved spending
time with her kids and grandkids.
Tammy was a devoted Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. She
was a caring, loving, patient, humble and amazing person that made friends
wherever she went and with whomever she encountered. She will be sincerely
Tammy was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Lanecia Murray, Tammy's
light will continue to shine through her mother, Ruth P. Adams-Kelly, twO
daughters Latresa Murray and Jhonae Smooth, six grandchildren, Da'Quan,
Jhamira, Jaden, Kenden, Caleb, and Kynslei. Two sisters, Cavories and Venus
and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
