From the union of the late Nathaniel and Marie Jones, Valerie Jones was born
on April 27, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland. She grew up in a very large family and
was affectionately known by her family and friends as "Val". Growing up, Val was
very quiet and known as a "Momma's Girl". She played the violin, participated in
modern dance, loved braiding fair and cooking. Spaghetti, mac and cheese and lasagna were her most favorite dishes to cook and eat. Val attended the Baltimore City
Public School System where she received her diploma. She then gained employment
with the Elizabeth Coney Personnel Agency and later Stella Maris Nursing Home
where she cared for the elderly and disabled.
Valerie was united in marriage to Joseph E. Christian Jr. on February 14,
2001 in an intimate service. She was a devoted and loyal wife, mother and grand-mother who cared deeply for her family. Her deep passion for caring for others lead
her to open her own home-based daycare center,
"Grandma Val's TC Daycare"
where she cared for her grandchildren and many neighborhoods Rids until her illness.
Valerie was baptized at New Pleasant Grove Missionary. She remained a loyal
member until she was called to a higher service. Although during the recent years
Valerie was absent from physical attendance due to her progressive illness, she re-
mained present spiritually in service and loyalty.
Valerie is proceeded in death by her parents, three sisters; Cynthia Jones,
Elaine McCargo and Janice Jones, and one brother; Larry Medley. She leaves to
cherish her memories: husband; Joseph E. Christian Jr., two children; Lachelle
Brown (Terrance), and Court nei Choyce, stepchildren; Latasha, LaTonya and Shana,
six sisters; Barbara Coates, Brenda Coates, Wanda Carter, Yvonne Medley, Linda
Buck, Sheila Mitz, one brother; Gregory Jones, ten grandchildren; Lateka Lee, La-
tiara Lee, Lachae'Eee, Latrea Lee, Tavonne, Lee, Amoura Choyce, DaShaun Brown,
Channing Brown, Chase Brown, Genesis Brown, step-grandchildren; Amara, An-
toine;, Cam' ron St, Meshard, Cedric, A'jaye, Kamarie, Jamera, Ma'kyi, Alana, Rico
Ir. and Santino, wine great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, her best
friend Sheila Carter, a special friend Jacqueline Campbell and a Host of nieces, nephH]ews, family, and friends.
