Rosalyn A Smith's Obituary

Rosalyn Annette Smith, a remarkable woman who lived a full life., passed away on March 4, 2026, in Baltimore County Hospice at Northwest Hospital.

Born on November 9, 1938 in Concord, North Carolina to Isaiah and Emma Caldwell Smith. Rosalyn graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1957. Throughout her life she held various jobs, including Read’s Drug store where she worked as a store assistant.

She later enrolled in Nursing School where she earned a certificate in nursing and went on to work at Mercy Villa and Dulaney Valley Nursing home where she retired.

Rosalyn (Rot was her nick name from childhood) was a devout Christian who cherished her Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Rosalyn attended the Miracle City Seventh-day Adventist Church and became friends to all she met. When Rosalyn first joined Miracle City, she was selected in as Miracle City’s Sabbath school secretary. She was an active member of “The Distinguished Ten,” that traveled to various religious events and plays.

Rosalyn’s memories will remain vivid and cherished. She is preceded in death by Isaiah and Emma Smith, parents; Johnnie Carl Smith, brother. She leaves behind four sisters: Kathern Ann Young, Connie Elaine Smith, Bette Simmon, and Pamela Jean Smith; Eugene Smith, brother and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Rosalyn’s life was rooted in faith and service. Her voice, her laughter, her steady and her unwavering love will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her. She will surely be missed.
